This project was to create Christie’s entry into the Series 2 Cinema Projectors
market (Solaria
http://www.christiedigital.com/AMEN/Products/christieCP2220.htm).
Under hard deadlines this project was a must succeed for the company, Jan 2010
all Digital Cinema projectors sold must support the DCI security standard.
Mediavention’s part in this project was aid in the development of the software
controlling the projector.
Specifically Mediavention provided the architecture for the UI and middleware
tier and development in all parts of the system. Interestingly this project
started as a JWT web service running a embedded Coldfire CPU as was 90%
completed then hardware changes forced a switch to C# .net, on a XPe platform.
Having development experience with both platforms Mediavention was able to
quickly switch technologies and spearhead redesign efforts while the rest of the
team was learning C#.
The team of software, hardware, mechanical, light engineering teams all worked
together to get this product line out within the line required by Christie.
