Just like a white board you pickup a drawing tool and then draw with it. The results are an application that works like Corel draw but video is designed in at the root of the application.

How can a video in MotionCoach be quickly launched into MotionCAD?

MotionCAD Button

One simple click of a button. A button on the gallery is labeled "MotionCAD", see the button above. To view a video in MotionCAD simply select the video you want in the gallery, and press the "MotionCAD" button.

MotionCoach will transfer some file information for MotionCAD.

To open the video into an analysis template click on the little down arrow that is beside to the right of this button. This will drop down a list of analysis templates that have been installed with MotionCoach.

Are lines placed in the video?

In the picture above lines, appear drawn on in video. This is not true, it better described that the lines are drawn on a clear piece of plastic over the video. If you where to open the video with a standard video player the lines would not be seen.

By doing lines in this manner, an unlimited number of possible analysis options are opened to analyze motion.

Can the lines/analysis be saved to view again?

The MotionCAD template documents you are working with can be saved exactly the way it is seen on the screen. This file can be re-opened at anytime in the future and changed and then re-saved. It is suggested you save them as another file name so to protect the original information of the Pro provided template.

What objects does MotionCAD provide?

MotionCAD provides a powerful serial of objects:

  • Line
  • Multi-segment line
  • Box
  • Ellipse
  • Curve
  • Pictures
  • Text
  • Frames
  • Special OLE objects
  • Other videos

Most of these objects above can be rotated, colors and thickness changed, ... any many more options depending on the object.

What are "Special OLE Objects" ?

Special OLE objects are objects that Microsoft's Object Linking and Embedding subsystems provide. This option links MotionCAD to all the features that you computer provides. Commonly, trainer pros use this special object to add voice lesions to the MotionCAD document. The Pro can say into the computer, "Go to frame 44, see how your hand position has improved from the last session", and record that sound for the student to listen to later.

You can get crazy here an even add WORD documents or WEB pages to the MotionCAD document if you want, this tool is very flexible.

More than one video in MotionCAD?

Yes, hundreds of videos can be viewed at the same time in MotionCAD, the only limit is the resources available on your computer. 5 to 10 videos is the typical limit.

Videos in MotionCAD are simply objects, and like the other objects in MotionCAD the videos can be moved around and size changed and the frame color changed, ...

The window on the right with all that information,  what is that?

That is called the property sheet. The Property sheet displays the details of the currently selected object. The default is the background, but if you click on any object in the MotionCAD document, the property sheet will change to show the details of that object.

When MotionCAD starts it, doesn't look the same as the picture above?

The display of MotionCAD is very configurable, most of the tool bars and property sheets can be moved around or removed from the screen. The final arrangement depends on your preference. To move bars around, just click on the double lines of one edge of the tool bar and drag the object to a new location.
