How to copy lines, rectangles, objects?

Many times you want to compare two angles like in the example above where there are two golfers in the picture. To compare the angle of the club at impact with the ball, move a line down the shaft of one club. To create an exact copy of that object, click to select the object, then press and hold the "CTRL" key on the keyboard down and drag and drop the selected object to its new position. If the "CTRL" key is down while moving, an object MotionCoach will make a copy of the object.

The same operation can be achieved with copy and paste operations. The difference in this case is that you must select the object (same), copy the object (CTRL+C) then paste the object (CTRL+V). After this, you have an exact copy of the object over top of the original. To move the new object to its destination position, click and drag the object, you will see the old object behind the new one.

Copy and paste also works between MotionCAD documents, so if you want to move an object from one document to another, select and copy in one document and then paste in the other.

How do you select multiple objects?

Did you ever want to move a bunch of objects at the same time? This can be done with multiple selections, more that one MotionCAD objects can selectedat a single time.

To select multiple objects one at a time, press and hold the "Shift" key down and then click on the objects you want to have selected. The first object will have green squares around it, the rest will appear blue.

The second way to select multiple objects is to use the pointer tool, the default option in the tool bar, and click and drag a rectangle around a bunch of objects. All the objects that are fully contained in the drawn rectangle will be selected.

To remove a single object from the multiple select, again hold the "Shift" key down and click on the object.

How do you group objects together?

Objects in MotionCAD can be grouped together to make a single complex object. To do this you must first do a multiple selection all the object that will be in the group (see above selecting multiple objects).

Next select the menu option Draw/Group/Group. When grouped you will see the object's green square edit points will disappear for the individual objects and be replaced by overall edit points. Now the object can be moved, resized, and rotated as a single object.

To ungroup a group of object, select the grouped complex object, then select the menu option Draw/Group/UnGroup.

  What are Layers?

MotionCAD objects can be attached to layers in the document. These layers can be hidden or removed taking all the objects that are on it. Layers can also be used to control editing of the document, only the objects on the active layer can be edited.

Can I make lines connect between objects?

Yes, MotionCAD objects contains snap points where lines can be attached. When the object is moved the line will change to remain linked to the snap point.  This way you can move objects around and the lines will remain connected.

Lesson -> CD (Read "lesson to CD")?

Lesson -> CD Technology

Once the lesson is complete in MotionCoach, you are ready to place it on CD. To start this process open the Lesson -> CD window shown above. To do this  click on the menu (File/Lesson -> CD) or the ICON as shown in the picture above.

In this window you have several opitions to control the lesson export.

Export Destination: Two options, Export -> CD, and Export -> File select the destination of the lesson.

  1. Export to CD will place the lesson onto a blank or writable CD. If your computer does not have DirectCD installed/disabled this option will be grayed out.
  2. Export to File option allows you to select destination and file name for the lesson.

Export Type: Three options for selecting the type of export.

  1. Export both the lesson files and the distribution kit. This is the default selection and is the complete option for making a Lesson CD for students.  This will make a complete installation CD including the MotionCAD FS installation files.
  2. Export Only Lesson will export only the lesson files, (MotionCAD file and videos used in the lesson). You would use this option if the student already has MotionCAD FS at home or you are simply adding a new lesson to the existing CD. If you are distribution lessons over the internet then this is the option you would select and then export to file.
  3. The final option is only distribution kit (only the MotionCAD FS installation files) This last option is used when you are pre-filling CDs for events when you want to save time.  With this option only the MotionCAD FS files and promotional files are placed on the CD. This makes the CD ready for the just the lesson installation.
